1. Who We Are

Verbena Projects LLC ("Verbena Projects," "we," "us," or "our") is a California limited liability company that operates a network of websites and digital services. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information across the Verbena Projects network, including:

Some of these sites maintain their own supplemental privacy policies that cover site-specific data practices. Links to those policies are listed in Section 13 of this document. Where a supplemental policy exists, it applies in addition to this master policy.

2. What We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with our sites. Across the network, we may collect:

• Contact information — name, email address, phone number, and similar details submitted via contact forms or signup forms.
• Account information — username, password (stored as a secure hash), and account preferences when you register for a platform service such as Verbena Email or the OJOS sponsor portal.
• Billing information — subscription plan and payment history. Payment card details are processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store raw card data on our servers.
• Email marketing data — contact lists, campaign content, and sending activity associated with your Verbena Email account.
• Sponsor and advertising data — ad creative, campaign settings, and billing records associated with OJOS by Verbena Projects Ad Network accounts.
• Communications — messages you send us via contact forms or email.

We do not run analytics software on our sites and do not use persistent tracking cookies for behavioral advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve our websites and services
• Respond to contact form submissions and inquiries
• Send email newsletters and communications to subscribers who have opted in
• Process subscription billing and manage accounts
• Enforce our terms of service and acceptable use policies
• Protect against spam, fraud, and abuse
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for behavioral advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our network. Each has its own privacy policy governing their data practices:

• Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) — Payment processing for Verbena Email subscriptions and OJOS ad network billing.
• Brevo (brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy) — Transactional email relay. System and notification emails from our platforms are delivered via Brevo's SMTP infrastructure.
• Cloudflare Turnstile (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy) — Spam and bot protection on certain forms across the network.
• Google Fonts (policies.google.com/privacy) — Font delivery on verbenaprojects.com. Loading Google Fonts may result in your IP address being logged by Google.
• Font Awesome (fontawesome.com/privacy) — Icon delivery on verbenaprojects.com via Cloudflare CDN.

5. The OJOS Ad Network

OJOS by Verbena Projects (ojos.verbenaprojects.com) is an advertising network that displays promotional content across sites in the Verbena Projects network. When you visit a site that participates in the OJOS network, a small JavaScript file is loaded from ojos.verbenaprojects.com to display ads.

The OJOS ad system uses your browser's sessionStorage to track how many ads have been shown during your current browsing session. This limits how often ads appear per session. sessionStorage is not a cookie — it is temporary, stored only in your browser's memory, and is deleted automatically when you close the browser tab. It is never transmitted to our servers and contains no personally identifiable information.

OJOS does not use persistent cookies, does not build behavioral profiles of site visitors, and does not share visitor data with advertisers.

6. Email Communications

When you submit an email address through a signup form on any Verbena Projects site, your contact information is stored in our internal contact management system (LilCRM, operated by Verbena Email). We use this to send newsletters, announcements, or other communications relevant to the site where you signed up.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may opt out at any time by clicking that link or by contacting us at info@verbenaprojects.com. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the services you use or as required by law. Specific retention practices by service:

• Verbena Email accounts — account data is retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted.
• Contact and signup form submissions — retained until you request removal.
• OJOS sponsor accounts — retained for the duration of your sponsorship and for a reasonable period thereafter for billing records.
• Billing records — retained as required by applicable financial and tax regulations.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements
• Opt out of email communications at any time

9. Children's Privacy

Our sites and services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at info@verbenaprojects.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Users

Verbena Projects LLC is based in the United States and our services are operated from the United States. If you access our sites from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our services, you consent to this transfer. If you are located in the European Union or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you are responsible for ensuring your use of our services complies with those laws. We make no representation that our services are appropriate or compliant for use in all jurisdictions.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing. Payment data is handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our sites after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
